Thermostat installation in Columbus, GA
We install standard and smart thermostats, wire them to match your system, and set them up with you so the schedule works for your house.
When a new thermostat helps
- A blank screen even with fresh batteries
- The house never matches the number on the thermostat
- You want a schedule, or control from your phone
- You are replacing the heating or cooling system
Blank screen?
Try fresh batteries and check the breaker and the switch near the indoor unit. If the screen stays blank, we can find out whether it is the thermostat or the system.
What we do
- Check that the thermostat you want works with your system
- Run or adapt the wiring, including a common wire where a smart thermostat needs one
- Mount it level and set the system type correctly
- Set the schedule with you and test heating and cooling
Questions about thermostat installation
Will a smart thermostat work with my system?
Most do, but some need a common wire, called a C-wire, for steady power. Heat pumps and two-stage systems need a thermostat set up for them.
Where should a thermostat go?
On an inside wall away from sun, vents, doors, and the kitchen, so it reads the room and not a hot or cold spot.
Can a thermostat cause the AC to stop working?
Yes. A failed thermostat, dead batteries, or a loose wire can keep the system from turning on at all.
