Signs your AC needs a repair

  • Warm air from the vents while the system runs
  • The outdoor unit hums but the fan does not spin
  • Ice on the copper lines or the indoor coil

Questions about AC repair

Why is my AC running but not cooling?

The most common causes are a dirty filter, an outdoor unit that has stopped running, a failed capacitor, or low refrigerant from a leak. A quick check of the thermostat, the breaker, and the filter rules out the simple ones.

Is it worth repairing an older AC?

It depends on the age of the system, what the repair costs, and how often it has broken. We tell you what we found and give you both options, repair or replace, in plain words.

My system uses R-22. Can it still be repaired?

Yes, many R-22 systems can still be repaired. R-22 has not been produced in the United States since 2020, so it is costly to add, which makes a leak on an R-22 system a good moment to talk about replacement.

Should I keep resetting the breaker?

No. A breaker that trips twice is telling you something is wrong. Leave it off and call us.
