HVAC system and heat pump repair in Columbus, GA
When the whole system acts up, heating and cooling both, we look at it as one system, from the thermostat to the outdoor unit, and fix what is causing it.
Signs the whole system needs a look
- A heat pump that cools in summer but will not heat in winter, or the reverse
- The system will not turn on at all
- Starting and stopping again and again without finishing a cycle
- Some rooms comfortable and others not
- Noises, smells, or a power bill that changed suddenly
What we check
- Thermostat, wiring, and the controls between the units
- Reversing valve and defrost controls on a heat pump
- Refrigerant charge and any leak along the lines
- Blower, coil, and filter
- Airflow at the vents
Questions about hvAC system repair
What is a heat pump?
A heat pump is an air conditioner that can run in reverse. In summer it moves heat out of the house; in winter it moves heat in. Many Georgia homes use one because winters here are mild.
Why does my heat pump blow cool air in winter?
Heat pump air feels cooler than furnace air even when it is working. If the house is not warming, the defrost cycle, a reversing valve, or low refrigerant may be the cause.
Do you work on both heating and cooling?
Yes. We repair, maintain, and install heating and cooling systems, including heat pumps, furnaces, and central air.
